Fed-favored PCE price gauge set to show easing inflation and raise likelihood of rate cut

The first decline in consumer prices in four years is just a starter dish for the Federal Reserve. The bank’s appetite to cut U.S. interest rates won’t be fully sated until it gets more weak readings from its favorite inflation gauge.
